Last year (May 2007), I started cycling for health reasons which soon led to a passion as an enthusiast. After riding the El Tour de Tucson (109 miles) I decided to up my game thinking that purchasing a USCF license, joining a team, and starting to do some racing would help. I feel my strength can be in long races eventually, but right now I am really enjoying criteriums. For this old rookie, the give and take camaraderie on a ride, race, or in the coffee shop with old and new friends is very rewarding. I’m looking forward to a lot of learning and our team effort on and off the road.
My time away from cycling or work is spent with family, reading, or church. After thirty years in Greenville, SC my wife and I moved to Tucson as a lay family to help a friend start a church. I’m a graduate of Bob Jones University with an MA in Motion Picture Films and have worked on nine productions. For the last 26 years I’ve worked in the trucking industry.
