I first started cycling when I when I was 16 and I still lived in Mexico, but I didn’t start racing more seriously until I was 17. I was lucky to get into a local team ( VH-Norson ) right when I started racing. I learned the basics of cycling and some strategy thanks to them. I raced with that team for 2 years and then I started racing with Speedbikes-Telcel.
I have been very lucky to be around the “faster guys” in Mexico because thanks to that I have had the luck of training with some of the best international coaches like Clement Capliar,(he was a coach from the Olympic training center), Vitaly Lazurenko (Russian 1996 Ukrainian olympian), Raymundo Esparza (Mexican National team coach).
Recently, I am in my junior year majoring in Nutritional Sciences, and I work half time as a student aid at school.
This past year I wasn’t able to do many races due to school, but next year’s goal is to race a lot more and get better results. |
