Eclipse Club Details & Application

Eclipse Racing-Club Program

Guidelines:

1.        Club Axiom - We are all doing this because we enjoy it!  Eclipse Racing wants to emulate a professional style racing team whenever possible. We want to race as a team, train as a team, and behave like a unified team. It provides everyone with more opportunity, greater experience, and a platform for success. Much can be accomplished if we work together! Let’s have some fun out there!!

2.        Club Commitment - The success of this club is dependant on the commitment of each and every member. Without this commitment to each other and to the team structure we cannot function effectively. Eclipse Racing would like everyone to make a commitment to be an active part of the team. Working together we will be successful and have fun!

3.        Club Representation - Members are expected to act professional at all times when they are representing the team. Poor sportsmanship and negativity is not acceptable in any training or racing situations. This includes riders, racers, feeders, support personal, feed zone language, all sponsor interaction, automobile interaction, and any/all public settings. We are representing many individuals and companies who have made our team possible. Always conduct yourself like a professional and let’s try to educate others whenever possible.

4.        Club Meetings –We will have regular club meetings and we encourage everyone to attend. It is an important time to meet, get to know your team members, and receive updated information. This is your team and the decisions that are made directly affect you.

5.        Race Goals – It is important that members train and race together as a team with a specific goal in mind. We want to conduct ourselves as a cohesive unit that is educated in proper team tactics and appropriate road etiquette. It is a good idea to practice these skills in every situation. They will become second nature and automatically carry over to races when it really counts. Help your teammates and they will help you!

6.        Race Attendance – Members are encouraged to attend as many competitions as possible in the 2008 season.

7.        Race Registration - Team members will be responsible for entering races themselves. There will not be team registration. There will be no reimbursements for entry fees for club riders. Members will register for races and on their USCF licenses as Eclipse Racing.

8.        Race Finishes – This is both a simple and complex issue. Simply put, we expect members to be properly prepared for the events they show up to.  This is part of our responsibility to other members, the club organizers, and our sponsors. Come prepared and we’ll all have more fun!

9.        Club Rides –Eclipse Racing will have regular Sunday Club rides (plus several others) and we will ride as a team on group rides as well as the shootout. Members are encouraged to participate as often as possible. It is fun, great training, and helps to create a bond with your teammates that proves very helpful in races.

10.     Riding as a Team - Members will always ride as a team. Group rides are a perfect opportunity for the team to practice these skills. This is a great idea on rides such as the Fair Wheel Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and the Shootout. Rebel riding is not a good show of team unity and causes hard feelings with teammates and question marks from everyone else. Chasing down and/or attacking teammates is not appropriate unless it is part of some predetermined training scenario. This also applies to non-scheduled group rides. If you meet up with a team member on a group ride work with them. As you will find out, your team members are your most important allies in every situation.  You will be rewarded if you treat them this way during non-race rides. We are always to be a team!

11.     Club Apparel - Club members should wear Eclipse Racing Club apparel whenever possible. This exposure is important to our sponsors and displays our professionalism.

12.     Promoted Events - Eclipse Racing will be promoting at least one and possibly several events in 2008. It is TBD but it may be a road race, criterium or cyclocross event. In any case we will let you know in plenty of time to make plans. We encourage volunteer help by all Eclipse Racing members.  This is not only our community responsibility but it’s also our USCF/ABRA requirement per ABRA bylaws. If everything is taken care of team members will be able to race.
